VERSION HISTORY 1.0 First version of FAQ. Might make more if I can figure out some of these darn mini-games :p _______________________________________________________________________________ II. MINIGAMES Note: This is an incomplete listing. I found some of the games hard to figure out and a lot of the text is in Japanese. A number of the games below I wouldn't have figured out if not for the help of some other players as mentioned in Credits, below. Rollerskater The aim of this minigame is to rollerskate to the end of a track filled with obstacles. These obstacles include rocks, birds, (which actually fly directly at you) and fences, among other things. You use the left joystick to go forwards, and if you push the right joystick up just as you are about to hit an obstacle, you can pick it up and throw it at your opponent, which will temporarily immobilize them. There are also pits that you must swerve to avoid. If you fall in one, you instantly lose. Turkey Dinner This minigame requires you to stuff a turkey on a teetering table. Use the left joystick to pick up food items and stuff them in the turkey. Food items include lettuce, tomato slices, cheese, fish, jalapenos, and olives. Different food items are worth different points, from 100 to 600. The right joystick controls the balance of the table. If the table tilts too far in one direction, the turkey slides off the table and your player loses. Watch out for non-food items, including bricks, cigars, small battleships, and bombs. If you stuff one inside the turkey it can alter the weight balance, cause you to lose points, or destroy your turkey and make you lose. If you time it right, you can use the left joystick to hurl a bomb onto your opponent's screen. If the timer runs out and both turkeys are still on the table, whoever has the most points wins. (It's hard to keep it up that long though.) Awesome Sling The idea of this minigame is to sling ducks into a basketball hoop. The hoop is constantly moving, so you have to adjust the angle of the sling accordingly. To do this, move the left joystick up in order to increase the angle, and move it down to decrease the angle. Alternate left and right on the right joystick to throw the duck. The idea is to sling as many ducks into the hoop as you can, but this can be hard. If you angle it just right you can sling the duck onto the opponent's screen. If it hits him, it will knock him out temporarily, however if you miss him it will scroll back onto your screen and knock YOU out. 200 points are obtained for every duck that falls though the hoop, and 100 points are rewarded for knocking the other player out. You lose 500 points for knocking yourself out. The player with the most points after 1 minute wins. Ballerina Ballistics This is a Galaga-type game in which the players control ballerinas and must fend off falling mustachioed fish. By spinning the left joystick the player's ballerina spins and builds up energy. The more energy that is built up, the faster the ballerina launches and makes it possible to penetrate several enemies at once. The right analog is used for standard movement. Left and right move you sideways, and up launches your ballerina skyward. Occasionally a space helmet will float across the screen. If the player launches a ballerina ito it, he can collect a power-up. Power-ups include a bottle of vinegar that causes twice as many fish to rain down on your opponent, a bowl of rice that clears your screen of all current fish, and a strand of DNA that will temporarily allow you to fire off several ballerinas at once. If any fish escape, they attach to the screen and obscure your vision (the rice bowl can remove them however). eash destroyed fish grants the player 173 points. Symphony Fight Challenge In this minigame you must fight off angry wolves using a conductor's baton and an energy shield. Using the right joystick you control your right arm holding the shield, and using the left joystick you control your left arm holding the baton. The wolves have chainsaws, adding to the challenge as the baton is shredded upon contact with the chainsaw, so you must avoid contact. If a player's baton is shredded, they lose. If they manage to fight off all ten wolves, they win, and are awarded seven hyperpoints. Grenade Attack This is one of the shorter minigames. The basis of is to throw a grenade at your opponent, but there are numerous obstacles that are blocking this. You use the right joystick to aim. Eg; holding the joystick right will make the player face right. To throw the grenade you hold the left joystick down and then up, with the power varying depending on how hard or fast you do it. To easily win this minigame, you have to aim at the second brick wall with the blue pattern on, and to throw it at the right distance, hold the left joystick back smoothly and then shift it forward violently. The grenade should immediately hit your opponent. Robot Battle This one's basically a tetris clone with a few operative differences. First, the pieces fall much more slowly. Second, you drive a little robot on top of the surface. Third, you have almost no control over where the blocks land. The left joystick drives the robot. Pressing down on the right joystick picks up a tetris block, then you can push the right joystick down again to drop it, or move the stick in any other direction to throw it (preferably onto your opponent's screen). If you eliminate multiple lines your robot fires a laser at the opponent's robot and fries it. A new robot is lowered from the sky, but during this time that player is defenseless. This game is fairly challenging as you sometimes find that after picking up a block, you often accidentally bump the right joystick in the wrong direction. Later on, when blocks come down faster it can be quite panic-inducing as you and the other player keep trying to throw the blocks at each other faster. _______________________________________________________________________________ III.
